GETTING STARTED

Stories of You makes it easy to record and preserve your memories in your own voice. Simply record a story answering any prompt you like, and we'll automatically create a beautiful video with visuals, a transcript, and a shareable link that you can keep and share with loved ones.
Click "Record a Story" on the home page, enter your name and email, choose a prompt (or skip to create your own), and start recording. That's it! No account needed to record your first story.
Not to record your first story! Just click "Record a Story" and you can start immediately. If you want to view all your stories in one place and manage sharing, you can login to your storyboard using the magic link we'll send to your email.
After you record, we automatically create a video combining your audio with visuals (AI-generated images based on your story, plus your uploaded photo if provided), generate a transcript of your story, create a shareable page with your video and transcript, and email you the link within 5-10 minutes. We recommend downloading your video for safekeeping, especially during our beta period.
Most stories are processed and emailed to you within 5-10 minutes. You'll receive an email with a link to your finished story video, transcript, and shareable page.
Yes! You can sit with a loved one and help them choose prompts, assist with recording, or even hold the device for them during the storytelling process. This is especially helpful for older family members who might be less comfortable with technology.

Each story can be up to 10 minutes long — enough to share meaningful details without feeling rushed.
Yes! You can record as many stories as you'd like. Login to your storyboard to see all your stories in one place and record new ones anytime.
No problem! Before you submit, you can listen to your recording and choose to re-record if you want. We also embrace the authenticity of natural speech — "ums" and pauses are part of what makes your voice uniquely yours.
Yes! You can upload a photo alongside your story. Your video will include both your photo and AI-generated visuals that complement your story.
No. Prompts are there to inspire you, but you're free to record any story you choose.

VIEWING & SHARING

You control who can access your stories. By default, only you can access them through your storyboard. You can share individual stories via link, or share your entire storyboard with family members. Stories are private unless you choose to share them.
Yes! Click "Login" on the home page and enter your email. We'll send you a magic link to access your storyboard, where you can view, download, and share all your stories.
Your storyboard is your personal collection of all the stories you've recorded. To access it, click "Login" on the home page and enter your email. We'll send you a magic link to login — no password needed. Once logged in, you can view all your stories, record new ones, download videos, and manage who you've shared your storyboard with.
Each story becomes a video that includes your voice narration (exactly as you recorded it), AI-generated imagery that illustrates your story, your uploaded photo (if you provided one), professional-looking video production with transitions, and a complete transcript of what you said. Tip: Download your videos from your storyboard to keep permanent copies.
You have two ways to share: (1) Share individual stories — Each story has its own unique link that you can email or text to anyone. They don't need an account to view it. (2) Share your entire storyboard — From your storyboard, you can invite family members by email to view your complete collection of stories. They'll receive a login link to access your storyboard anytime.
Yes! From your storyboard, you can download the video file for any story. This gives you a permanent copy that you can save, share on social media, or archive however you'd like.
Yes! We strongly recommend downloading videos of your stories, especially during beta. From your storyboard, click the download button on any story to save the video file to your device. This gives you a permanent backup that's always yours, regardless of any future changes to the service.
Only if you share your storyboard with them. When you share your storyboard with someone, they can login and see all the stories you've recorded. You can see who has access and remove sharing access at any time from your storyboard settings.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

All recordings are stored securely with encryption. We never sell or share your data without permission. More information can be found on our privacy page.
Yes, completely. Each story link is private and only accessible to people you share it with. Your storyboard is only accessible to you unless you explicitly invite someone to view it. You can revoke sharing access at any time.
You can download videos of all your stories at any time from your storyboard. Since we're currently in beta, we strongly encourage downloading your stories as your permanent backup. When we launch the full service, we'll provide advance notice and export options.
No. Your personal stories are never used to train AI models. We use AI services (like transcription and image generation) to process your stories, but your content remains private and is never used for any other purpose.

PRICING & SUPPORT

During beta, Stories of You is completely free to use. Pricing will be announced before full launch.
Beta means we're testing and refining the service before our official launch. Everything works — you can record, view, and share stories — but we're actively making improvements based on user feedback. The service is completely free during beta, and we encourage you to download your stories to keep permanent copies as we prepare for our full launch.
We plan to offer a family subscription plan that covers multiple storytellers in your household. We'll give plenty of advance notice before beta ends, including time to download all your content. All features remain free during the beta period.
Current features include custom prompt creation (write your own questions in your storyboard) and sharing your storyboard with family members. Coming soon: enhanced sharing controls, phone recording option (call a number to record), and printed memory books. We'd love to hear what features matter most to you!
